H!P Chocolate is Officially B Corp Certified
H!P IS NOW OFFICIALLY B CORP CERTIFIED! We're BUZZING to join the B Corp community.
What is a B Corp?
B Corp is a global certification initiative that assesses businesses based on their environmental and social performance, accountability and transparency. To get B Corp certified, companies are carefully assessed on their environmental and ethical practices. Joining this global movement of companies using business as a force for good makes us part of an incredible community committed to balancing profit and purpose.
Why does it matter to us?
We’re unbelievably proud to be involved in this international effort to create an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy and, once again, we are forced to kneel at the altar of the holy oat in thanks for letting us create the creamiest plant-based chocolate that serves both people and planet.
Our mission is to prove that plant-based, sustainable chocolate doesn’t have to compromise on taste, and our primary goal is to revolutionise the mainstream chocolate market by rejecting the widespread dependence on animal products and by sourcing our cocoa responsibly. We prioritise people and planet at every step of the production process.
We want to drive change in the way we eat and make snacking sustainably as easy and delicious as it should be, and becoming B Corp certified is a huge milestone for us on our journey.
Why are we worshipping oats?
In order to create delicious, dairy-free chocolate, we needed a plant-based milk that offered a creamy, smooth texture, delicious taste, and a positive environmental impact. Oat milk exceeds other alternative milks on both sustainability and taste and, crucially, its thick and creamy texture makes it perfect for creating milky chocolate. On average, the oat milk in our bars uses 200 litres less water and ⅓ of the CO2 compared to most chocolate made with cow juice.
What else are we doing?
All our packaging is planet-friendly: our bars are completely plastic free, with the inner film made from wood pulp, and our pouches are recyclable.
The cocoa that goes into making our delicious chocolate is carefully and ethically sourced from a family-owned business in Bogota, Colombia, who have grown cocoa for over 100 years.
As a 1% for the Planet member, we donate 1% of our annual sales to environmental nonprofit organisations, a financial commitment that will directly support initiatives that focus on the conservation and protection of our planet.
